Roxanne St. Claire Rocks!

I read Roxanne St. Claire's book, THRILL ME TO DEATH, a while back and I loved it.
When it was featured as the selection in the monthly book club I attend, I thought, "Cool. I've already read it, but I'll go back and skim through to pick up the highlights."
I learned something new about her books as I re-read the first chapter. I just can't skim through Roxanne's St. Claire's books. A few hours later, I was hooked yet again, as if I hadn't already read the awesome book, pouring through her amazing writing style as if it were a brand new story.
I just couldn't help it!

Do yourself a favor, pick up Roxanne's latest Bullet Catcher novel, THRILL ME TO DEATH. I dare you not to be captivated...twice :)
I also recommend her first hot book in the Bullet Catcher series, KILL ME TWICE.

Here is the blurb:
A hot-blooded bodyguard. An heiress worth a cool billion. And one dangerous attraction.... Roxanne St. Claire delivers a heart-pounding thrill ride in the second Bullet Catchers novel!

HE KNOWS ALL HER SECRETS...

Max Roper never lets emotion get in the way of his job -- not since the tragic shooting that killed his fiancée's father. Now the former DEA agent is a Bullet Catcher, and he's managed to block out Cori's bitter goodbye -- and their sizzling passion. Those dangerous desires come back with a vengeance when Max is assigned to protect a recently widowed heiress: who turns out to be Cori. But Max must also discover his ex's dark
secret...and they both know she can't hide anything from him.

...AND HOW TO USE THEM AGAINST HER

Her luxury lifestyle suggests that Cori has gone from being a trophy wife to a merry widow, but nothing could be further from the truth. Suspicious of her billionaire husband's sudden death, she hires a bodyguard. But her protector is the one man who can melt her every defense -- the one man she blames for her deepest sorrow, the one man whose six-feet four-inches of solid muscle ignites reckless passion in her. And as they close in on a killer who hides in plain view, their high-stakes affair could cost her everything...including her life.

Poised to Write the Next Book

I'm about to start a new book. Woo Hoo!

I've been pondering it all week now.

I've made a collage with colorful relevant pictures to set my mood to this story.

I've selected pictures to showcase my characters so that I may visualize them speaking and moving about as I create scenes for them.

I've met with my critique group to bounce ideas around and ensure I'm on the right track to start out. Is the premise intriguing? How can I make it better? Are my characters worthy of concern? How can I make readers love them? Do I have enough of a story?

They tell me I have too many ideas to squeeze into the parameters of my novella sized manuscript...but then again they “always” tell me that. I've already been warned I must write a tight concise story with no adverbs or prepositional phrases whatsoever. Fine! :) But I still say it's better to have too much written down for the edit…than not enough. :)

I love this part of writing. Poised on the edge of a precipice before I dive in head first to another place, another time, and another love story.
My subconscious mind has worked on the scenes and the plot this past week. I let all I know about the story swirl around in my head until I'm ready to launch in to power writing mode.

It’s yet another part of writing that I adore.
So if you’re looking for me in the coming weeks, I’ll be hard at work writing.
Can I get a big Woo Hoo? :)

The Miner's Wife
The Review:
The Miner's Wife is a story that will capture your attention and keep it. With an intriguing plot, engaging characters and explosive sex, this story has it all. Hannah's background is almost unbelievable. The quick and powerful rise of the new Tiberius Group has surprised everyone, especially the women. Their antiquated views of women and their place in society are in direct opposition to what she's worked so hard for all of her life. When she meets Brutal, she expects him to treat her in the same manner that her father and her previous husband did. But he eventually surprises her, showing her gentleness, caring and support throughout the story which she hadn't received from the men who were supposed to care for her.
Brutal is a bio-genetically engineered man, who must have sex in order to recharge his batteries. I loved this! Brutal is definitely all man, strong, sexy and a hard worker. Not only does he need sex, he gets a better charge from his partner's satisfaction, and boy, does he satisfy! Hannah and Brutal are highly combustible, enjoying their sexual escapades and explorations.
But what I really liked about Brutal was his caring attitude toward Hannah. He allows her the opportunity to work and show her intelligence and believed in her when no one else would. The pace of this story is just right, telling about their backgrounds then quickly moving to their relationship. With a little danger from Brutal's nemesis and a surprise from Hannah's past, you won't find one minute of boredom is this story. Add this one to your must read list and keep on the lookout for the other Wives Tales! 5 Stars" —Trang, Ecataromance

Just a Kiss
The Review:

"On the run from a madman, Gabrielle accidentally stumbles onto the platform of a departing alien ship. Instead of facing death, Gabrielle is faced with a fate much worse, with just one kiss. How much trouble can one chocolate orgasmic kiss be?

Keller, the future king of Tiburon awakes from a delirium demanding a kiss. Now life mated to an irresistible earth woman, Keller defends their relationship against the racism and tradition of his people, regardless of the consequences.

Amongst orgasmic chocolate kisses and fiery chemistry, you will be totally captivated in the hilariously sweet romance of two people bound together by 'Just A Kiss.' Be warned, you may either laugh uncontrollably or need water to cool you down while reading Just A Kiss. 5 Stars." —Suz Smith, Ecataromance

Happy Birthday to Jon

I wanted to say Happy Birthday to my little brother, today.

Okay, so he's taller than me and not really little.
I'm older, but believe me I don't brag about 'that' anymore.

See you little squirt, I didn't forget...however your card might be a little late. :)

Love you,

Writing Music...so subjective

When I write I listen to music. I have several playlists put together from all my favorite CD's that I've ripped to my computer. (I know it sounds violent, but I'm assured by computer geeks everywhere that it's a painless process) :)

I even have one set up for when I'm writing THOSE sexy scenes. ;-)
In fact, wrote The Miner's Wife listening to Blessed Hellride by Black Label Society over and over.

Lately I've been entranced listening to Closer by Nine Inch Nails. Whew!
And a new addition for my listening pleasure has been Buttons by The Pussycat Dolls. I saw them perform it on Jay Leno. I wish that by merely listening to it, I could look as good as they do. :)

So I was on chat loop a couple of weeks ago and a fellow writer mentioned some music that she listened to in order to write sexy scenes. I went to Amazon to listen to the clips since I'm ever on the look out for new music to help me write. I found it very interesting that I was not moved by the same music that she was. As I suspected...Music is so very subjective. Especially music that you use to write to.

My point, yes I have one, is that whether you listen to music or not when you write, you have to find the particular music that works best for you.

Rock on. :)

Ready to Write

RWA was very big. There were lots and lots of writers. There were many things to do and places to go every minute of every day.
It was so very cool! I enjoyed it very much. I already can't wait until next year.

And now I'm now filled with motivation to write. I knew I would be.
I have a semi-cleaned up office with a freshly decluttered desk. No more paper avalanches to hamper me. Once again I'm thinking of giving up sleep so I can write more. :):)

My latest book is available for sale at Siren.
It's the latest installment of the Wives Tales.

The Executive's Wife

Sophie is auctioned into marriage to her dream man,
but will she be the executive's former wife when his
ambitious father conspires to get rid of her?

I hope my readers enjoy it.
