The Final Birthday

Yes, the final birthday for this month is mine.
Happy Birthday to me.

This means that I'll be doing whatever I want to today.
And this does not include laundry. FYI.

But it does mean that I'm having my favorite dessert tonight. Fried cheesecake with strawberry sauce and whipped cream.
Yum!

If you already know how old I am...you don't need to put it in writing anywhere.
If you don't know...then I'm not telling. :)
I like to think of myself as young at heart.

Now my kids know down to the nanosecond how old I am.
But they'll be too busy doing laundry today to answer any questions about how old I am. :)
Muwahahaha.

Little Red Gets Reviewed :)

Title: A Siren Adult Fairy Tale 4: Little Red Rides the Wolf
Author: Lara Santiago
Publisher: Siren Publishing
Publisher URL: www.sirenpublishing.com
ISBN: 1-933563-03-6-A6
Reviewer: Aggie Tsirikas
Rating: 4 1/2 Stars
Heat Level: H

Following her mother's death, Cheri Amaranth travels across the galaxy to meet her ailing Grampa, but not before he warns her to beware of the big bad wolf. Upon landing on her Grampa’s planet, Cheri is met by Hunter, her guide, though things go wrong very quickly. Cheri escapes only to meet the charming and sexy Caine Wolver, who has been eagerly awaiting her arrival. Which man will Cheri trust? And will she eventually get to meet her Grampa?

Little Red Rides the Wolf by Lara Santiago is a flowing, fast paced erotic sci-fi fairy tale with shape-shifting characters that draws you into the story and absorbs your attention effortlessly. It’s easy to believe what’s happening to Cheri and Caine. Even the nefarious Hunter, who is at times over the top like Cheri herself, is hard to resist. The sex between Cheri and Caine is almost instant, but through Ms. Santiago’s deft handling, it was a truly enjoyable scorching read and you know these two are destined to be together. You can feel the chemistry that springs between Cheri and Caine from their first meeting. This story is quirky, fun, and a quick read because you don’t want to put it down, with appealing characters and a fast-paced plot that sometimes doesn’t take itself too seriously, but rather lets the reader enjoy the fun journey with Cheri and Caine. With Little Red Rides the Wolf Ms. Santiago has written an excellent twist on a classic fairytale, with a writing style that flows easily and assuredly, absorbing you into this adult fairy tale from the first page. This is one story that I would gladly recommend for readers who enjoy their adult fairytales.

Tick Tock ~ Deadline Coming Soon

I'm on a deadline.
I have something due in a couple of weeks.

I'm 93% of the way done...if I can believe the spreadsheet I created to keep track of my word count. And I do.

And the truth is...I work better this way. :) I love having a goal.
Pressure makes me work better and faster.
Even one of my kids calls me a workaholic. Won't he be surprised when he turns into one as well. Muwahahaha

Okay, I know I need to blog, but I need to finish my ms more.
If you need me I'll be practicing an age old writer's technique for finishing manuscripts courtesy of Kristen.
BICFOK
Which stands for Butt In Chair, Fingers On Keyboard.

Anyone else out there who also works better with their butt to the fire?
I can't be the only one...can I? :)

The Birthday Month

Yes.
It's true.
There was yet another birthday in our family today.

Of the four of us, three birthdays are in May.
And someone turned 40 today...good news, it wasn't me. :)

This is the candle I wished I could have found. Alas, I ended up with two candles. A four and a zero outlined in yellow wax decorated with multi-colored dots. :)
To me it seemed to say, "Hello, It's Springtime!"
But that's okay.

I decided not to go over board this year.
I mean, where's the surprise in that?

Now next year when he turns 41 he won't be expecting a big, huge, rest in peace, over the hill birthday birthday bash with black balloons and streamers. :):)

Happy Birthday, my hero!
Here's to 40 more. :)

in a country far, far away...on a remote island...
(okay so it was the Azores, Portugal)
I gave birth to a sweet baby boy.

He's the baby of our family. The younger of two boys.
When he was little, he was such a pistol!! The very definition of the word rambunctious, he didn't stop moving even when he slept. :)

Not only is he fifteen years old today...the truth is...
he's taller than me.
Sniff, sniff. I just can't get over get over that fact that I have to look up at him now. :)

Happy Birthday to you my sweet baby boy!

I hope you have a marvelous day.
Tonight...Chinese Food and Chocolate Cake!

More RT pictures - Fun With Fangs

Here are a few more pictures from the 2007 Romantic Times conference in Houston.

Fun with fangs. :)

Me about to take a bite out of Amanda Hilton at the Vampires of the Wild, Wild West party.
I guess they should have fed us faster. :)

Here is Kristen Painter (vampire cowgirl) , Morgan Ashbury (the smiling victim) and me (twin vampire cowgirl) about to get a bite together. :):)

I think we might have been waiting too long for our dessert when this was taken.
Wild West Vampires get hungry faster than regular ones. At least in our case.
Or perhaps we just like to ham it up for the cameras. :)

This is Kristen Painter about to be slain by Carrie Hensley (a vampire hunter) having fun while we waited for the elevator to go to the party.

Nothing like a little drama to get into the mood of the party. :):)

Romantic Times Conference Picture ~ a tame one

I'm testing today. Bear with me.

I'm trying to get my RT pictures loaded without crashing my computer system. :)

Here is a picture of the fabulous Amanda Hilton (on the left) and me at the 2007 RT Booksigning in Houston.
Isn't she gorgeous? :)

I thought my table was very dressed up...and red. One of my favorite colors. :)

I may only be able to load pictures one at a time. :)
Today I've selected a tame picture of us at RT.
Stay tuned for more. :)
